Zach Scarfo

Zach Scarfo is a Licensed Social Worker who works to provide practical and client-centered care for everyday issues in a supportive and inclusive space. Zach works with adults from all backgrounds and utilizes cognitive-behavioral approaches to practice including, mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and dialectical approaches to address a variety of social and psychological issues.

Zach received his Master of Social Work from the Catholic University of America and has a BA in communications from the University of Pittsburgh. Before transitioning to clinical work, he spent 10 years working in the public relations and communications fields building relationships with a diverse set of clients in a variety of environments, including health care. Zach has a deep understanding of how relationships evolve and change and is excited to build a therapeutic alliance with his individual clients to meet their specific needs and achieve their goals.  

Zach has experience working with clients who are experiencing difficulties with acute and chronic illnesses, anxiety disorders, relationship/family patterns and self-identity questions, and the unique ways they and other issues intersect with our day-to-day lives.

Zach is licensed to practice in Washington, DC and is being supervised at Heartwerq by Kyle T. Collins, LICSW.
